LDI, Ltd. Celebrates 100th Anniversary with $1.2 Million Cultural Gift Program

LDI partners with local cultural arts organizations in yearlong celebration

INDIANAPOLIS – LDI, Ltd. is marking 100 years in business by giving more than $1.2 million back to Indianapolis through the LDI 100th Anniversary Celebration Cultural Partnership Gift Program. Cultural arts projects funded by this gift program will happen throughout the city for an entire year.

“LDI wanted to create a gift to the Indianapolis community that nurtured our company and allowed us to grow and thrive for 100 years,” said Andre Lacy, Chairman of the Board. LDI’s predecessor company, U.S. Corrugated-Fibre Box Company, was established in 1912 by Howard J. Lacy and two partners. Today LDI is a Forbes-ranked holding company specializing in value-added distribution and logistics- supply chain businesses.

With gifts totaling more than $1 million, the LDI 100th Anniversary Celebration Cultural Partnership Gift Program has engaged longtime partners as well as new organizations in the community. “We asked these organizations to ‘dream big’ for projects that would extend cultural arts programs to build bridges across our city to engage all members of our community. We are proud to partner with them,” said Margot Lacy Eccles, Vice President of LDI.

Sixteen Indianapolis groups will benefit from the LDI 100th Anniversary Celebration Cultural Partnership Gift Program; they are:

Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site The Cabaret
The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis Conner Prairie Museum, Inc.

Indianapolis Zoo President and CEO Mike Crowther, one of the recipients of the LDI 100th Anniversary Celebration Cultural Partnership Gift Program, said it is especially valuable because the program allows participating institutions to build stronger and more sustainable futures instead of simply focusing on current operations. “LDI was born in Indianapolis and has flourished here as a part of the community, not apart from the community,” said Crowther. “The company’s leaders have always been involved in Indianapolis civic and cultural life, and it’s LDI’s nature to incorporate that into their centennial celebration. We are extraordinarily grateful to LDI’s leadership and the Lacy family that we were invited to be a part of the program.”

The Eiteljorg Museum will be the first to open a project funded by the LDI 100th Anniversary Celebration Cultural Partnership Gift Program. “The exciting new exhibition, Steel Ponies, offers the Eiteljorg Museum an unprecedented opportunity to reach out to first-time visitors to the museum, capitalizing on America’s fascination with motorcycles and connecting them to the history of the West,” said John Vanausdall, President and CEO of the Eiteljorg Museum. “Thanks to the remarkable grant from LDI, the museum will be able to expand its offering of programs related to Steel Ponies, targeting new and diverse audiences, and make major increases in marketing and promotion of the exhibit. LDI’s generous and visionary support is expected to have a lasting impact on the museum by creating interest among new potential guests and members.”

“Giving back to the community, especially the arts and culture community, is a vital part of doing business for LDI, and something we encourage every company to embrace,” said LDI CEO David
